French rider Fabio Quartararo faced additional challenges in 2024, finishing 15th in the main Grand Prix and earning just one consolation point. Despite a third-place finish in the Sprint, he was later demoted to fifth due to breaching minimum tyre pressure regulations. Quartararo struggled with Yamaha’s 2024 bike’s turning issues throughout the season, limiting his speed due to arm pump during the race. He explained his difficulties with rear grip and turning on the brakes, forcing him to slow down in the later stages of the race. Quartararo had previously dealt with arm pump issues on the same circuit in 2021, and he anticipated similar challenges due to the bike’s performance fluctuations this season. Despite the Jerez circuit not favoring Yamaha, Quartararo is hopeful that the upcoming race at Le Mans will provide a better platform for him due to the different track characteristics, which could ease his arm pump concerns.
